Just us

Some DT inspo for Lasting Memories #583 – the theme was new Beginnings and the challenge is to use a black & white photo.

Lots of freedom with this challenge!

I almost always have left over medium! But it never goes to waste as I scrap it onto some white card stock and just keep building up the layers. (I usually have 3 or 4 on the go with different colour palettes).

I grabbed one of my pre-prepared backgrounds, added a little more colour, matted my photo, added some embellishments and called it done. Probably my quickest LO ever!

Products I’ve used include

Charms Creation heavenly heart

Colour Blast stencil

Lindy’s Color Shot Starburst – Autumn Leaves

Wooden Dove (from a $2 shop), Wood veneer lock, Enamel dots, Flair & flower spray.

Creativity is contagious

There is some design Team inspo for Lasting Memories Challenge #581.

The challenge is use a child’s artwork on your layout. If you don’t have any artwork from a child, use lots of layers instead.

And technically this is my child!

I used one of my mixed media scrap backgrounds to start. When I have left over product I just add it to one of the many pages I keep on the go for just that purpose. Waste not ….

I gessoed some chipboard waste and then sponged on some distress inks and oxide. I die cut a mason jar from vellum and used distress inks through a stencil to create the paintbrushes with some Stampin’ Up markers for the “paint”. The title was more distress ink through a stencil. I added a few leftover old Simple Stories ephemera and a quote (Arthur Ash) to finish it off.

It’s a wonderful life

Some DT Inspo for lasting Memories #578 – the challenge – Create a layout and use the phrase – It’s a Wonderful Life – as your title.

Because I scrape off all my unused mixed media left overs on to a piece of white card stock (I usually have 2 or 3 on the go, depending on the colour palette) this layout only took about 20 minutes as my background was already done – and most of that time was selecting the photo!
